Editorial standards

Useful first. Accurate always.

Our publishing system is designed to favor a smaller number of useful, well-sourced stories over high-volume filler.

Primary sources first

For announcements, policies, dates, and other time-sensitive facts, we prefer official park, hotel, company, or government sources. Independent reporting can add context, but it does not replace verification when a primary source is available.

No manufactured certainty

If sources conflict, we say they conflict. If something is unknown, we say it is unknown. We do not convert rumors into facts or predict operating details without evidence.

Original writing

ParkMates Journal summarizes and explains rather than reproducing other publications. Source links appear on timely reporting so readers can inspect the underlying information themselves.

Automated assistance with quality gates

Automation may assist research, drafting, metadata, and publishing operations. Articles must still pass deterministic checks for sourcing, structure, metadata, and basic quality before they can publish. A failed quality gate results in no article.

Corrections and updates

When material facts change, the goal is to update the relevant guide or article and reflect the newest verified information rather than quietly preserving outdated advice.
