Journal privacy and analytics
This notice explains the analytics used on ParkMates Journal.
Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics is optional and does not load unless you choose “Allow analytics.” If you decline, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded in your browser. You can change your choice at any time using “Privacy choices” in the footer.
When enabled, Google Analytics measures page views, scrolls, and outbound link clicks. ParkMates configures advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google Signals to remain off. Google may process usage and device information under its own terms.
Journal readership reporting
The Journal also records basic pageview reporting on its server: the page path, broad device category, referring website, country inferred from the connection, and optional campaign parameters. Its pageview record uses a pseudonymous identifier derived from the connection address and browser user-agent with a server-held salt; the raw address is not stored in that pageview record. Hosting and network providers may process connection information to deliver and protect the site.
Newsletter and payments
If you subscribe to ParkMates Weekly, payment is handled through Stripe’s checkout and subscription tools. Review the information shown in Stripe before completing a subscription.
